Abstract | This research project seeks to identify several determinants: Factors in women participation; determinants disparities between women and men; and vulnerable groups within the population of women (single-mothers, women with poor health conditions, poor women and ethnic minorities, considering the multi-ethnic nature of the Western Balkans) in the labour market. This research project aims to examine the determinants of labour force participation in four Western Balkan countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Macedonia. The underlying rationale is that increasing female labour force participation will decrease social disparities with respect to gender in these countries. This research will open the labour market ”black box” for females in the Western Balkans. |
